Hey it's been a while, just a little update for those of you that are around here.
You probably have noticed that since the beginning of 2019, I have stopped doing any sort of digital art. The whole process of sketching and redrawing lines again and again to get it just right has taken a toll making it very stressful for me. As much as I like to continue drawing digitally, mainly for convenience, it just wasn't fun at all.
I've since been going through a lot of searching (mainly on Twitter/Pixiv) to find something that I can latch on to, some other medium which I can express my creative ideas on. That was when I happen to stumble on a Japanese watercolor artist on Pixiv. His art was not only good but somehow soothing to look at. So I've been following them for the past year (even before stopping digital art) until I finally decided to jump ship. I bought some brushes, a small watercolor kit and some paper. Painting my first piece wasn't easy, everything was so different from digital. Somehow I managed to keep painting piece after piece all the while using the person's art as a guide to what I should and can do with watercolors. Most importantly, I don't feel stressed at all while painting. And so I've decided to keep use watercolors as a means to express myself.
As for the name change, not sure if anyone has noticed, but some of my watercolor pieces (if I remember to place it) have a new signature on the bottom right corner, kon*p. That will be the name I will go by for my watercolor pieces, I've since changed all my social media pages to that name however dA is the only one that does not allow name changes to free users. Creating a new account is the next option however I didn't want to just abandon my old account, who knows, I might feel like I want to give dA money to change 5 letters.
Anyway please follow this person on Twitter, he does amazing Pokemon art. You can already tell that I am trying my best to learn from them and hopefully come out with my own style.
